Animal control in Fort Erie is a Humane Society of Greater Niagara (HSGN) function. Formerly known as the Lincoln County Humane Society (LCHS) the HSGN is a locally recognized authority on animal welfare issues. They have strived to make a measurable difference in the lives of animals since 1881. The HSGN is an integral part of the community. They are viewed as a trusted and desirable organization for volunteerism and support.
In the Niagara Region, the HSGN has provided Animal Care and Control Services to surrounding communities for over 50 years. Their goal is to build awareness of the essential role of animals in our lives and to promote the humane and respectful treatment of all animals. The HSGN is committed to assisting animals in need, including homeless cats, dogs, and other companion animals subjected to cruelty or neglect. All questions about adoption, strays, dog bites, and dog licenses should be directed to the HSGN.
