Beach Rules

The following rules apply to anyone visiting Bay Beach during our hours of operation:

Before entering, all beachgoers must present a valid Bay Beach resident, commercial, or day pass to staff. Proof of residency is not required.
The Bay Beach hours of operation are Monday to Sunday (including holidays) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Public access to the beach is available outside operation hours unless otherwise mandated.
There is a set number of people allowed on Bay Beach each day. Once Bay Beach reaches its capacity limit, it is closed to new patrons.
When entering Bay Beach, security may ask you to show the items in your bags. Any beachgoer who refuses to do is not allowed to access the beach.
Pass holders will enter Bay Beach through the Ashwood or Main Street entrances and leave through the Ashwood or Schooley Road exits.
Service dogs must wear a proper service vest to access the beach. If your guide/service animal does not wear a vest or harness, you can show documentation from a regulated health professional.

The Town of Fort Erie has implemented a pilot project to introduce Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUPs) and Kayaks at Bay Beach for the 2024 Summer Season. The current pilot project allows the use of SUPs and Kayaks at the beach from Monday to Thursday (except Holidays) anytime, and Friday to Sunday, before 11am and after 6pm.

The following are not allowed on Bay Beach at all times:

Fires
No pets or animals (except for service dogs)
Glass containers
Littering
Public defecation/urination
Alcohol
Smoking or vaping tobacco/cannabis
Barbecues
Pavilions
Tents of any size or type
Sport-brellas
Watercraft such as boats
Garden shovels, tools, etc. (Only plastic toy shovels are permitted)
Or any umbrellas that are greater than seven feet or that have a shade diameter greater than nine feet

Beach staff, security and by-law enforcement will enforce beach rules.
