Are you passionate about bringing people together and creating memorable experiences? If so, you've come to the right place. Here, we provide all the information you need to apply for hosting a community event in Fort Erie. Whether it's a festival, charity run, cultural gathering, or any other event that promotes unity and engagement, we are excited to support your efforts.
In order to host a community event, a Community Event Application Form is required and must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event start date.
Note: There is no cost for a Community Event Permit.

Once you have submitted your Community Events Application Form to the Town, staff from the Economic Development & Tourism Services Department will notify you in writing the status of your request, and, of any additional requirements the municipality may have.
Does the event require insurance? |
All users of Municipal property and facilities must acquire and deliver to the Town of Fort Erie public liability insurance in the amount of $2 million dollars naming 'The Corporation of the Town of Fort Erie' as an additional insured. In some cases, a larger amount may be required. |
Do you need Municipal resources? |
If municipal resources are required, please fill out the application form accordingly. Municipal resources are dependent upon availability and budget consideration.
You must contact Economic Development and Tourism Services (EDTS) department two (2) weeks prior to your event to confirm availability and delivery of requested resources. |
Will there be food, beverages or personal services at your event? |
Individuals or groups planning to organize or operate any public event where attendees will consume and/or handle fresh food or beverages, or, will receive personal services must notify Niagara Region Public Health.

Do you intend to sell alcohol at your event? |
Are you intending to sell alcohol at your event? A SOP (Special Occasion Permit) is required any time liquor is offered for sale anywhere other than in a liquor licenced establishment. The AGCO will require a letter of non-objection from the Municipality. To obtain this please submit a site map of the proposed licenced area and public liability insurance in the amount of $5 million dollars naming 'the Corporation of the Town of Fort Erie' as an additional insured.

Are you erecting a tent or structure at your event? |
If you intend to have any tents at your event that are larger than 100 sq.ft. and/or erected structures (i.e. stage), you will need to consult with the Building Department to see if a building permit is required.

Do you require Niagara Paramedics at your event? From medical coverage to school presentations, the Niagara Region's paramedics can attend your next event and enjoy sharing their knowledge with others. Attendance is based on the availability of the paramedics.
