Nick Dubanow is serving his first term on Council representing Ward 2.
A life-long Niagara resident with strong roots in Fort Erie, Nick has close to two decades of experience in the Information Systems and Technology field. He is currently office manager at a family-owned business located in Ward 2, which has been operating in Fort Erie since 1999. Together with his wife Lauren Walpole, Nick has two children, William and Penelope, who attend Garrison Road Public School.
Nick has a long history of public service, political engagement and community building. He has been a member of Fort Erie’s Community Development Gaming Corporation and Public Library Boards of Directors, as well as a member of Fort Erie’s Waterfront Strategy Focus Group. He is a past member and treasurer of the Kinsmen Club of Fort Erie where he was awarded the Rookie of the Year award, as well as a volunteer for the Salvation Army Mobile Outreach Unit. During the summers, Nick and his wife coach T-ball with the Greater Fort Erie Minor Baseball Association. He also volunteers his time with the Kinsmen Pool, Canada Day Fireworks and other civic initiatives that help make Fort Erie a community that he is proud to call his home.
Providing families with a reason to stay together in Fort Erie is very important to Nick, and the motivation behind his involvement in the community. Nick is dedicated to continuing to serve the community and the families that live here as their councillor.
