The Municipal and School Board Elections will be held on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022    

Thank you to all Voters! Polling stations will be closing at 8:00 pm.

Register as a Candidate: Monday, May 2 to Friday, August 19 at 2:00 p.m.

To run for the office of Mayor, Councillor or School Board Trustee for 2022, candidates must file a nomination paper.

 

Nominations are open starting May 2, 2022 during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) up until Nomination Day on August 19, 2022, when the papers can only be submitted until 2:00 p.m.

Until you file a nomination paper, you cannot raise or spend any money on your campaign.

 

Nomination Day: Friday, August 19, 2022 | 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Deadline for filing or withdrawing nominations: Nominations may be filed only between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. People can also withdraw nomination papers, in writing, before 2:00 p.m.


Municipal Offices to be elected in 2022

Mayor: One (1) to be elected, at large within the Town. Also serves as a member of Regional Council.

 

Town Councillors: Six (6) to be elected, one (1) from each of the six (6) municipal wards:

  • Ward 1
  • Ward 2
  • Ward 3
  • Ward 4
  • Ward 5
  • Ward 6


Regional Councillors: One (1) to be elected to represent the Town of Fort Erie at the Regional Municipality of Niagara.

 

School Board Trustees to be elected in 2022

 

English Language Public District School Board
One (1) to be elected for the combined area of Fort Erie and Port Colborne

 

English Language Catholic District School Board
One (1) to be elected for the combined area of Fort Erie, Port Colborne and Wainfleet

 

French Language Public School Board (Conseil Scolaire Viamonde)
One (1) to be elected for the combined area of Fort Erie, Niagara Falls, Pelham, Port Colborne, Thorold, Welland and Wainfleet

 

French Language Catholic School Board (Conseil Scolaire Catholique MonAvenir)
One (1) to be elected for the combined area of Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Wainfleet, Pelham and Welland
