Corporate Services

The Corporate Services department controls all funds of the Town and ensures that the finances are managed in accordance with legislative and contractual requirements.

The Director, Corporate Services performs statutory duties as the Town Treasurer under the Ontario Municipal Act and provides advice to Council and Senior Managers.

The Finance Division is responsible for:

• Preparation of annual budgets (operating & capital)
• Financial statement preparation
• Guiding the financial strategies of the Town
• Levying and collecting property taxes on behalf of the Town, region, school boards and BIA’s
• Billing and collecting water and wastewater
• Purchasing and Accounts Payable
• Accounts Receivable
• Long term financing (debentures)
• Accounting and management of the financial assets of the town
• Insurance Claims
• Payroll and benefits services
• Legal services
